Destructive water

I was playing terrario 9.0, I was digging underground taking some water with me. When I found an underground house, the water fell into the cave and destroyed the chest. I probably wouldn've been concerned, but the items inside the chest didn't come with it. I then realized that water can break any furniture, and chests don't drop their items. Could you make a patch for this?
