Workaround for SmartSDR 4.01 (Basic) - Start with DAX-IQ Streams OFF (CW Skimmer)
I've been using SmartSDR 4.01 for a few weeks with slicemaster v0.11.0g. Works perfectly for me now that this workaround has been documented. Not sure why this works but eliminates the parsing and python errors and the latency caused in the radio with the SmartSDR 3.9.x and 3.10.x releases:
-Start up SmartSDR, DAX and CAT programs.
-Toggle all DAX-IQ streams OFF in SmartSDR DAX
-Start slicemaster with Radios disconnected option
-Connect slicemaster to your local radio, or maestro
-Monitor the status window inslice master for the connection to complete
-enable only the DAX-IQ stream in SmartSDR DAX needed for CW-Skimmer
-the DAX-IQ stream should be blue. If not restart everything in the above order.
From there everything should work normally as per previous releases before SmartSDR 3.8.x. Performance has been solid for 2+ weeks. No errors in slicemaster, no latency.
