Verification page can sometimes show up for a few seconds if user session is out-of-date

I onboarded as a new user and when I was shown the "check your email" page immediately after onboarding, I clicked on the link in my email. When I got to the part of EHPA where it checked for my verification, it showed the "check your email" window for a second or two before it realized that I verified.
