Feature Request - Up-to-date news information

This is an idea from Office Hours 11. Chris mentioned that he would like to add some basic news information that could be updated on the website easily.

My suggestion would be to use Websockets to push that content to the page, that way it can be instantly changed on anyone whom has the page open without needing to refresh the page.

I don't know where or how the backend information would be "stored" or updated, as I have very little practical experience with it myself, but I have seen it used to change webpage information in real time and synced across multiple clients.
