This issue is a bit complicated, because the error `instance not initialized` and the error `java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to resume activity` are actually come from different part of the code base....
The problem of jitpack.io doesn't get fix tho. Any modification with gradle files could only make the IDE reading cache from already downloaded library AARs

Editing metadata isn't this app's primary function, so I'll suggest to use another app like the one I've mentioned earlier to do this
