Add Custom Keys order of appearance

Open astewart77 opened this issue 9 months ago • 2 comments

I've used Add Custom Keys to add five macros and they all work fine, but the order in which they appear in the corner of the A S D F G keys seems random. Not alphabetic or the order in which they are defined and listed in settings. Changing a definition may or may not change the order. Is there a way to control which key a macro is assigned to? Or would that require a whole layout?

There is no more precise control of this, short of writing your own custom layout.

This is a very important issue and we really should have a better solution than custom layouts. Related issue: https://github.com/Julow/Unexpected-Keyboard/issues/955

Internally, there's code to do this for some keys. The preference for adding keys to the keyboard could be extended to setting this. Anyone interesting in building this feature ?
