This started to happen some time around the beginning of the month. Works fine at first but breaks after some time using it. For now force stopping the keyboard as an app and reopening seems to fix it for some time.

I'll add system info and another screenshot of how it looks after I force stop it and restart.

I wonder if this could be related to https://github.com/Julow/Unexpected-Keyboard/pull/1062 ?

Can you try the latest debug build ? At the bottom of this page https://github.com/Julow/Unexpected-Keyboard/actions/runs/17732710633

I've downloaded it, will try it today and reply if it breaks or not.

Using it since the last comment, it did not break yet, might just be lucky but this seems to have fixed the issue

Is this happened after you opened the unexpected keyboard settings and the app still in the recent apps? If yes, close it from the recent apps, then open any text field, then call the unexpected keyboard with tap on text field, tap back key to hide unexpected keyboard, tap on text field again. Let's see.

Previously while using the release version it happened randomly, it would just appear like that after working fine for some time and then would appear like that every time after that, the only "fix" I've found was to force stop the keyboard application from settings, next time it would appear normal.

I did not notice any specific behavior or app that caused the bug to appear consistently but I've tried most of my apps and stuff like closing the app, switching orientation from portrait to landscape while the keyboard is opening/closing and that did not cause the bug to appear in the debug version.

When I first noticed the bug in the release version I tried changing the keyboard settings to increase the margin at the bottom but then after I rebooted the phone I ended up with a huge gap because the bug "fixed" itself, so just opening/closing the keyboard settings app did not help

On OxygenOS 15, the keyboard always below the bottom navigation buttons when switching from Gboard to Unexpected Keyboard using the keyboard switch button in the bottom-right corner even with the latest debug version.

On LineageOS 22 (also Android 15), this issue does not occur when switching normally. However, if you long-press the keyboard switch button and select Unexpected Keyboard from the list manually, the keyboard stays permanently below the navigation bar

If this hasn’t been identified yet...
