Uninstalling Juliaup doesn't remove .julia dir or at least .julia/juliaup
Regarding this problem, I decided to try to uninstall and reinstall Juliaup. I'm running Windows 10. I uninstalled it using
🪟 Win > search "Juliaup" > Right click > 🗑 Uninstall.
Then I checked the C:\Users\Shayan\.julia and C:\Users\Shayan\.julia\juliaup directories. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), both exist (as before I guess). So I doubt if it was a clean uninstallation.
I should mention that I installed Juliaup from the Microsoft Store and I hadn't any other Julia installation (like the stand-alone binary from JuliaLang.org/download) on my machine.
#457 has some notes about removing .julia/juliaup on uninstall.
Deleting .julia seems unwise since that is not something specific to juliaup and might contain data from other julia installations. Maybe the uninstaller could ask if you want to clean up the julia folder, but I don't think it should be done automatically at least.
There is another problem: we actually can't remove anything from the .julia folder during uninstall for the Windows Store option, all we can remove is the actual juliaup stuff (which we already do).
Perhaps print a notice that if you want to remove all trace of Julia then you have to remove certain other directories—is it just ~/.julia?
We can do that for the self installer on Mac and Linux, but not on Windows, we have no ability to run custom code at uninstall for the Windows Store version.
