Update artwork
We need to get high-quality assets (images etc) both for the MSIX installer and the store listing.
johnh mentioned this on discourse:
Also as an aside the blue background on the Julia three balls logo which Juliaup installs is really not good for me. I am colourblind and the three balls disappear. Please use a clear background?
+1 that the blue background looks bad. My colour vision is fine.
I also want to add that the Julia logo should be added as the default icon for the windows terminal entry. Good quality pictures can be found here. If a PNG of the logo comes with the installation, one simply has to add "icon": "C:/path/to/file/julia-dots.png" to the settings.json entry for julia.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/design/style/app-icons-and-logos has all the infos we need.
I'm going to use Visual Studio to create the artwork from https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia-logo-graphics automatically.
So we still have the blue background, even though I updated all the artwork and I thought I had it fixed. I think somehow we need to provide an "unplated" asset. I'm putting this in the backlog for now, if someone else wants to try to understand the subtleties of all of this and try to fix that it would be great!
Relatedly, I noticed that juliaup's Terminal-launched-Julia doesn't have an icon presently. In the past, I manually added an icon to Terminal-launched-Julia by including the following line in the appropriate profile of the Terminal settings .json file:
"icon": "%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/Programs/Julia-1.6.0/share/icons/julia.ico"
where the path of course would be different here (I recall that the julia.ico file isn't included in the /share/ folder from the standard installer - so I think I pulled it from here).
That snippet adds a little icon to the tab (left-hand side, a manually installed Julia version with the snippet; right-hand side, juliaup's current look):

The Windows Terminal icon issue is an upstream problem, see here. I think we'll have to wait until they fix that there, unfortunately. I think liking the original issue might help move it up their priority list.
Ah, I see - that's too bad. Until that's fixed, one can always add it manually afterwards I suppose.
I sent a "thumbs up" over to that issue. Thanks for a great installer!
