macOS: Is there a way to make the newly opened windows open in the same "space" as the calling editor?

When I do imshow, it opens a new window on my desktop "space" (in macOS parlance):

Is there a way to make it open on the same space as the calling editor? This should be possible, see, e.g., my iTerm window:
