Orange Pi 6 Plus

First of all, thank you for your excellent work on the Ubuntu for Rockchip devices. I will be making a donation soon since I think it is important to support the developers like you.

And, secondly, I know that this question is not Rockchip-related, but I figured it might be a good starting point to ask it here, since your knowledge on the ARM boards seem to be pretty advanced.

So, I am going to invest some time and money into the 6 plus boards (for AI-related stuff) and wanted to ask you if it's a good idea and how hard it might be to get a fully-functional default desktop ubuntu working on the Orange Pi 6 Plus boards.

I know that there's almost no point in waiting for the good software support from the developers. But the hardware and price seem to be pretty interesting.

@vaaliferov He's not active here anymore. I believe he told that it became too much because he was busy with other things/work.

@royka1 Yeah, I remember this. But here's what he said about a month ago. So, let's hope it's true.

looking at some of the "bug" tickets there's a chance he might stop it again. people don't put any effort into those and expect him to teach basic linux knowledge (for free of course)

I am interested in the Orange Pi 6 series, however i expect the software support will be very bad, but I need to get in touch with Orange Pi and ask for the hardware. I do apologize for my absence, Ive been recovering from burnout and dealing with mental health issues.

@Joshua-Riek I have some difficulties making a donation in a regular way (cause I live in Russia). Are there any other options available which you might consider? Maybe through telegram or something like this? Greatly appreciate your work. Hope you get better soon.

You know, this world sucks sometimes pretty bad .. Especially these days .. But it will get better eventually. I strongly believe in that. Joshua, you are an awesome developer and you know it. You bring real value to the community. So, you need to know that you do have our support and love. It's just .. Some people are not so good at expressing their appreciation through actions and even through words I guess ..

@Joshua-Riek Take your time, don't feel pressurized. Your health should have the highest priority.

I also really like this one. Their company is less than 3km away from me, but the price of this one is too expensive

You really have nothing to apologize for. We (as community) are very grateful for the work you did. You brought this product into life when Orange Pi showed their back on their users. For wide generic community this product would be useless without your work.
