I just wanted to stop and say thank you for your work.
I just wanted to stop and say thank you for your work, I live in New Zealand and even though I am on a very restrictive income due to not being able to work because of progressive terminal illness, I will be in 2 to 4 weeks wanting throw a small donation in your direction, it wont be much but just something to say thanks for the hard work, I know a lot of time open source can be quite thankless.
Thank you very much for your donation, even though the author has stopped maintaining this project

So hes quit it completely never to return?? I read that he was having a pretty thankless time of it and wanted to do something to make it less thankless so he would stick with it, is he totally uninvolved now? and if so has someone else picked up the torch?
I'm back and testing things
Personally, what you do on your own time should be your business and none of theirs.

Ill be back now, my current job has put me on management duty without a raise and telling me not to program anymore. Programming is my real love and passion so fuck them i guess. I'll be trying to reach out to companies to get deals and funding, maybe i can make this my full time job if companies decide to invest.

There is a new tool called ubuntu-image, it will now be very easy to build a rootfs for pretty much any Ubuntu release by using a yaml file. This should require little maintenance on my behalf, but ill need to send some fixes over to Canonical.
That sounds great. When will it be available for download and does it have full documentation?
Im not sure, Ubuntu 22.04 desktop builds are being a pain, so I might just leave Ubuntu 22 and 24 how they are and use this new method for future Ubuntu releases.
also on a positive note @Joshua-Riek I am using your images and your KERNEL build tool suites to provide very nice DIY streaming boards. I am a very pragmatic person, so I have a mix of your images and armbian images. I take what works best. Half of the boards are based on your great work 👍 and the build tool is/was very comfy to use to add fixes myself (while you were absent). Thank you for all the great work, details like that are seen ❤️

congratulation🎉🎉🎉
I might have more time than I thought. My job put me into management and wants to outsource developers... I don't give a fuck about management... I'm a programmer... So anyone hiring let me know:)
Hi Joshua,I’m glad you’re back working on the ubuntu-rockchip project, g forward to a 25.10 release in the near future when you can spare the time. I much appreciate all the hard work you have put in to this project, without your work, I’m sure many of us would have given up on our rockchip based projects.Sorry to hear you are not happy in your new role at the company you work for, perhaps try Canonical? I’m sure it would be a good fit for both of you.Regards,Steve PringleSent from my iPadOn 5 Oct 2025, at 01:37, Joshua Riek @.***> wrote:Joshua-Riek left a comment (Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-rockchip#1295) I might have more time than I thought. Hope you are enjoying being back at it, sorry my donation couldn't have been more but I'm not that flush these days.

This is great news and perhaps Canonical is a good shout. Do you have a guide anywhere on how you have done your work up to now or do you think canonicals tool will be enough?
Best Regards and thanks for the work!
