Well, I do hope flatpak will work. I wrote that original manual so Im assuming flatpak did at some point support installing development modules. But I dont really remember anymore....

the docker idea would make it very easy to run and develop for JASP. And it would automatically avoid problems with any local installs. It sounds rather appealing actually

Well, maybe its not an UTF-8 locale? Perhaps @utkb can post the output from the command `locale` in the turkish locale with the problem.
