Tiangolo is working on things in the background due to the Pydantic v2 release coming up. I **assume** this won't be merged before then, honestly.

I'll close this as it hasn't been merged for two years - I suspect it's easier to start over than to rebase after all pydantic v2 changes. Personally I don't...
