When I change “When on battery” to “Keep enabled” from “Disable if < 20%” then Aerial works just fine.

I’m getting this issue as well (black screen when Aerial starts, moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard does not bring up the login screen). Happens regardless of starting through macOS or through the companion. After experimenting a bit in the options I noticed that when I change “When on battery” to “Keep enabled” from “Disable if < 20%” then Aerial works just fine.

Specifically, when I’m plugged in but under 20% state-of-charge:

  • Keep enabled: Aerial works normally
  • Always disable: Aerial works normally
  • Disable if < 20%: Black screen, login doesn’t appear
