FYI You don't need to request permissions. Also make sure you've rebuilt your project after pod install, etc.

I agree that we should - Add an error should be logged/thrown if the type isn't supported - Add support, perhaps in a more generic way to checking filetypes.

This happens because your android device has multiple apps that handle the intent the library is firing off. If you only had one app, it would open it directly.
