Option to automatically create parents (or placeholders)

When adding an individual, if the individual is the top level, meaning, they are no parents for the person yet, show a parent element for mother and father.

Hi, I understand what you mean but I actually didn't do that on purpose. Simply because I don't see any advantage in it, actually it only takes up space that may never be filled ?!

But maybe you have arguments that convince me 😄

Pros

  1. You don't have to click "Create Parent". You can just edit the parents.
  2. If you have the parents, you can assume siblings have the same parents. I created some members and becaus I created siblings before I created parents I had to attach them to the now existing parents.

Cons

  1. You assume there's 2 parents. Good or bad, its an assumption

Not sure what sources you're drawing inspiration from, but familyecho.com is where I'm comparing features.

Ok, I think I can just do this optionally via the settings

But another question, where should I stop? Because these automatically created parents have no parents, otherwise it would go on forever ^^

Or I don't add another placeholder until data is entered into the parent placeholder ... I'll have to think about that 😁
