Cannot open video file from gallery or file explorer

Expected behavior

I expected to be able to open a video file for use on the app. Once I clicked open, and it opens the file manager activity, I should be able to select a video there.

Actual behavior

The video files do not load to the app at all. I just kept clicking and no response. Even trying to select from gallery takes the video to a video player.

How to reproduce

  • Download velocity calculator from fdroid

  • Open and calibrate the app

  • Click open button and navigate to a video file

  • Select the file

  • It won't get loaded to the app

  • App: Velocity Calculator version 1.3.1 latest on fdroid

  • Operating system: Android Lollipop 5.1
