I had the same issue in solus. Outline was trying to copy some file to /usr/local/sbin dir which does not exist. Manually created this directory and it works fine now.

SwarnimDoegar avatar Jun 10 '21 13:06 SwarnimDoegar

@SwarnimDoegar This method does not work :(

I also use the outline. I use vpn in the whole system but I can not use it in the browser

This is very strange :)

There is no problem with the browser, different browsers also have this problem

TorhamDev avatar Oct 27 '21 15:10 TorhamDev

  errno: -2,

@PanHH Hi, I had this error a long time ago

You have to reinstall the outline

I also tried to solve this problem. I have two computers, one laptop (Ubuntu 20.04) another PC (Ubuntu 18.04.6). On the laptop, everything works as it should, I do the same thing only on the PC, then an error occurs. I tried to change permissions, install different versions of the application client, delete the file located on the path / usr / local / sbin, reboot the system, update, use other ss keys, none of this helped. Googled there is also nothing. I think it's problematic in the Ubuntu version. What versions of linux do you @Sentoki @pjmd89 @hummblebee @PanHH have?

newqwes avatar Dec 29 '21 14:12 newqwes

How the solution from me will be found, I will write about it right there.

newqwes avatar Dec 29 '21 14:12 newqwes

@newqwes ubuntu 20.04

TorhamDev avatar Jan 04 '22 07:01 TorhamDev

@TorhamDev @newqwes

You have to reinstall the outline

I had reinstalled several times, this problem persists. I used the version of Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS.

But I can use the outline on my Android and IOS mobile phone very well.

@PanHH @aaaamirabbas @Sentoki I switched to Wireguard, it works much faster and more stable. Supports Linux to the fullest. My guide to install Wireguard

Also stumbled across this issue with Outline Client version 1.7.0 on Manjaro Linux. uname -a: Linux workstation 5.15.41-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed May 18 09:20:01 UTC 2022 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Could connect to my server after creating file /home/$user/.config/Outline/connection_store

masta0f1eave avatar May 24 '22 18:05 masta0f1eave

I'm getting the same error now with Ubuntu 18.04. The servers I use work properly on my iPhone and I was able to connect with Outline until the last week. But I had to re-install my Ubuntu 18.04 this week and after that, I am not able to connect and get this exact error. Was anybody able to solve this issue?

Reysb avatar Jul 13 '22 13:07 Reysb

@Reysb Also fixed the problem on Manjaro 21.3 just by creating file /home/$user/.config/Outline/connection_store. Outline Client version 1.7.2. Does it work for Ubuntu?

Vasyka avatar Jul 26 '22 14:07 Vasyka

Does it work for Ubuntu? No, it does not work.

CoolAller avatar Sep 21 '22 19:09 CoolAller

Thanks for reaching out! Please try with the latest versions of Outline and open a new issue if the problem persists. Please note that we only support Debian-based Linux distros.
