Indeed, it increases the number of clicks to reach the webpage where actual pdf can be obtained, so I get this point.

Although citation dynamics is quite easy to calculate, it turns out to be not very interesting. We could show some estimate of citation velocity (e.g., smoothed first derivative) in the tooltip instead of this plot.
