Public Match Overview
Would it be possible for the match overview to be publicly viewable?
You would then only be able to read it and not execute server commands
Users could then quickly see which server they are playing on and could join via the connect links
I really like this idea. Do you mean only the overview of all matches or also the detail page for single matches? I've to think about it how to implement read only access. But if also the connect details (server password) is public, then everybody could join a server (also during a match if the server has some empty slots). So if you have trouble with trolls with bad intentions or just stupid gamers you might not be happy with this?!
We use this mostly on small LAN Party's with ~ 50 participants but i can relate your concerns with some trolling gamers.
Maybe a read only login could be the solution. You can share it with the tournament participants and not everyone can abuse it.
Or maybe tmt2 change the Servername in somethink like this "Competitive - Team A vs. Team B " / "Wingman - Team A vs. Team B" So there no need to the the matches in TMT2.

We do exactly that with the rconCommands payload (also available in the web frontend):
{
"rconCommands": {
"init": [
"hostname Match Team Alpha - Team Beta"
],
"end": [
"hostname empty server"
]
},
}
I don't want to put those simple features (which is essential only one rcon command) into TMT itself.
But I'll think about the read only access because i think it could provide some other benefits as well. Like providing the GOTV (CSTV?) info if it's setup so others can just join and spectate.
Is it possible to use some variables for the Teamnames for writing this into the Hostname. Because you allready write the Team Names in the GUI
