SCS Directory does not exist. Says I'm not logged in after removing content migrator config to work around.

image Installed the sitecore sidekick via nuget packages. Everything seemed to install successfully. Initially got an error where it seemed like the scs directory was not created. Read in some posts that I could delete the content migrator config to get around those errors. Once I removed the config the sitecore sidekick loaded but it says I am not logged in. Therefore I can't really view any of the tools/options. Am I not able to use the sidekick within a vm that has no internet connection? image image
