Improve unit tests

This is for after #20 is finished, but I wanted to make sure I don't forget to do this later.

Essentially, #20 is for getting "some kind" of tests in place, not specifically multiple tests or detailed tests per class/module/etc. It is important to have very strong, well thought out tests for a library such as this.
