[ISSUE] [ANDROID\iOS] Sound stops after playing another sound on phone
While I can't replicate this with standard notification sounds -- if I accidentally click a youtube link or something, it will stop the song audio, and not even the sync button will cause it to play again. Changing to another song doesn't always help either -- usually after about 10 minutes or so sound will return.
On further testing, it appears it's pretty much when a youtube clip plays. Other services work fine with JQBX. 9I was able to watch videos through twitter and facebook without losing JQBX fully)
I was told this also affects iOS devices. updated title.
I've found a temporary work around -- once you kill whatever app is taking priority completely, sound immediately comes back. Simply tasking back to the JQBX app and syncing doesn't work.
this is the biggest issue for me too!! after I start a voice message to someone (or play a any video with sound) I can't get the music to start playing again.
Android 9, OnePlus 3T
This also happens when monitoring a Nest camera with audio in the Nest Home app on Android; force closing that app doesn't fix it and I have to fully reboot my phone.
Bump. This started happening again. Twitter/Youtube/Chrome/Spotify in mobile will hijack sound and not return it to JQBX without double closing the application.
I've got what seems to be a 100% workaround for me, on Android:
- Log out of JQBX app
- Fully close JQBX app (this step seems to be required)
- Re-open and log back in to JQBX app - at this point, I either have sound immediately, or else Sync Sound now works and brings the sound back immediately
Does this work for anyone else?
Thoughts:
- Replicating the loss of sound is easy; just playing something in Spotify definitely does it, YouTube seems to do it too
- It's possible that losing the sound is something to do with the Spotify API more than JQBX itself(?)
- I wonder if the fact that 'logout, close, re-open, login' gets the sound back in JQBX, but 'logout, login' doesn't is some kind of way in to a fix?
@CaptInternet Killing the app which is taking over does not fix it for me. Is that still a fix for you?
I'm on a Galaxy S10 Lite, Android 10, Samsung One UI 2.1 and JQBX 47.0 (according to Settings/Apps).
Mine only came back after killing the JQBX app... It's not a workaround for me since a loose my turn/music playing in the room...
