Filament snags in tests

Open CD1010 opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

I built the Galileo using kit from filastruder. Mine has the bowden input variant so i can run a tube from the frame to the extruder.
My hotend is Phraetus rapido but i don't think that is relevant to my issue.
so the problem is: clipped 2 bowden tubes with a bowden cutter to make sure perfectly straight. One is on the top going down to bondtech gears, other is from bottom up.

I release the latch fully and try to put some filament in and i find that it binds on the head of the filament. I have to do some wiggling to get it in. It again binds when it hits the transistion in side the hot end.

How do i fix this? I expect it will jam or at least be a pain in butt to change filament

Hi CD1010,

Sorry for the late reply, my repository has been ignored for far longer than it should have. As far as snags go, a bit of wiggling to insert is normal, but you can also use a "load" macro and just push the filament to the drive wheels to load it that way.

If the filament went in completely smoothly, it would mean that there was no grip on the filament, so a bit of drag is normal. If you have other questions or concerns here, please let me know.

Thanks, Zach
