Problem with install script on 20.04 LTS.
Hello again. I'm currently using Ubuntu 20.04.2.0 LTS. When I try to install the theme using the provided install script (from an up-to-date repository clone) the icon theme seems to "break"; icons look squished horizontally (slimmer). This happens with every icon theme I use, be it one of your color variations or some other (e. g. Papirus) . However, when I install the theme manually (copying theme and icon folders, and setting gdm3 compatibility using the instructions in the README file) the icons look just fine. I have not been able to try if this error happens only on 20.04; however, it seems to be avoidable by installing manually, so no big deal :) Again, thank you for the awesome theme.
Did you manually install the icons in the same directory as you did with the install script?
Same here (on the same dist\release). Tried to remove some themes and manually copy some themes like deepblue-dark to /usr/share/themes but the icons are still squished as op says. Only tested with the material from the complete Yaru-Complete-Colors v21.04.
Same issue, running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Manually installing theme does not help, however. Attaching screenshot.
Edit: Issue only shows up in the activities screen.
I really don't know what causes this issue since it's working on 21.04. Only thing I could imagine is that Gnome-Shell changed something in the latest 3.xx version.
I'm on my holidays at the moment so I can't check this.
Only fix I can suggest is to use the icon pack for 20.10/20.04 since there are not that much changes in the 21.04 release.
I can confirm this issue as well. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 however I haven't managed to fix the issue when moving the files manually. Neither did it help to use the older versions of the theme.
Edit: Sorry, I made a mistake, copying the themes in release of 20.04.2 did work for me. Sadly, it does not contain the Teal colour that I love.
I solved this problem by reinstalling the yaru-related packages, for some reason in ubuntu 20.04 the default gnome-shell broke.
Is it still broken? If so I can try to help out, a relatively brutal way to reinstall the shell and the default Yaru packages would be:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop
Make sure that you do this from tty
(press Ctrl-Alt-F3), as it will uninstall the graphical user interface.
And be aware that this is a very brutal and risky method, if you explain your issues in more detail, I might be able to give a bit more targeted and precise advice.
