Detailed description of your suggestion

PBR rendering already exists in Blockbench with support for MER, height, and normal maps.

I mean labPBR in minecraft and preview🫥

Wanted to ask / suggest adding support for LabPBR 1.3, so that it would be possible to work with PBR in Blockbench for Java.

In the Java community, LabPBR is widely used as the standard approach. Unlike Bedrock, where MER (metallic-emissive-roughness) textures are the norm, Java resource / shader pack developers rely on LabPBR specifications. This means that many creators who focus on Java content currently have to juggle external tools and game-side testing to properly configure and preview their materials. 😔

If Blockbench could natively support LabPBR 1.3, it would make the workflow for Java creators much smoother. Instead of constantly exporting and reloading packs into Minecraft or relying on external viewers, artists could handle smoothness, F0, emissive, and other LabPBR-specific channels right inside the Blockbench viewport. This would bring Java workflows closer in line with the integrated experience Bedrock creators already have through MER, while respecting the standards actually used in the Java ecosystem. Thanks.

Thanks to mentioning me. In the past when my suggestion was closed by Jannis, I thought that he might be very busy if he accepted my suggestion, because that would spend much time to add them(and maybe some creators will ask for seusPBR as well) into BlockBench . But Jannis accepted them now. So as far as I see, BlockBench will be more popular in PBR resource pack creators. Hope my wish can come true.
