Solution for Bios Whitelist?

Open SaulGoodman1337 opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Somehow I can't find anything for the whitelist for gen 2. Lots of other Thinkpads with finished bios files... but nothing about gen 2. do you have any ideas?

I also investigated on this issue for a while and it turns out that the bios has boot guard enabled thus any mod to the bios will cause system not bootable. The only way to remove whitelist is to make lenovo remove their whitelist in their signed bios. However, I am thinking of method posted here https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121293-rebranding-broadcom-based-80211bgn-cards/, because rebranding the broadcom network card to match the id in whitelist seems to be way easier.

Very interesting solution, please keep us posted in case you are successful!
