HW 4 low Linf estimates & converging half the time

My model including the spatial trend runs but returns too low of estimates of Linf (mostly ranging in 30-40). I am not sure why it would be consistently be estimating low values of Linf.

Additionally, the model with no spatial trend (using the Map to turn the random effect on and off) only runs half the time. For the other half the time, it is returning an error message Newton dropout because inner gradient had non-finite components. I have tried the similar starting values from the Sim_Fn.

Any ideas on why my Linf is low and why the no spatial trend model is only running part of the time?

There's multiple parameterizations so I'd need more details to help. I doubt I'll have time before class tomorrow but feel free to send Jie and me code and I could find time tomorrow to look
