ActionBar tabs are overflowing on pre-ICS devices

This is repost from this stackoverflow question.

I'm using ActionBarSherlock with custom tab images that fit perfectly the device, but for some unknown reason are overflowing on Android 2.2 and 2.3 (it works nice on 4.0+). I created this GIF that shows the behavior.

I've already set android:paddingLeft and android:paddingRight to 0, but it still doesn't work.

Any ideas what is the reason for that?

What version of ABS? I think this was already fixed.
