Plex playback broken between v1.6 and v1.7

This has been bugging me for a while and I was finally able to track down a solution. As of v1.7, playback on Plex is broken. Plex works fine in v1.6.

Can confirm. I have the same issue, plex is stuck at loading the video. Works in v1.6 but not in any newer version.

I'm developing v3 but not familiar with Plex; can you provide a reproducer / instructions ?

Unfortunately the reproduction steps require a bit of setup, but happy to provide instructions:

One time setup:

1. Sign up for Plex at https://www.plex.tv/
2. Download Plex Media Server at https://www.plex.tv/downloads/
3. Add some media to the server

Reproduction steps:

1. From Helium, visit app.plex.tv and log in
2. Play the media you added

You'll see that playback never starts. Performing the above on a normal browser window works fine.

Ok, did that, added my movie folder but not network access; picked a movie

• 2001, plays fine? Still in dialog with Apple re: security and layout issues.

That's good to hear, @slashlos looking forward to your first Helium v3 release. Leaving this open since it's still applicable in this repo.
