Details on version and operating system

No response

Checked with the latest development build (copy version output from About dialog)

  • [X] I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • [X] I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

When importing settings from a file, one needs to click "OK" on the "You need to restart Jabref" prompt, but then click "Cancel" on the main Preferences window.

If clicking "Save" instead of "Cancel", the settings don't get imported at all.

Last tested on 5.12 (this was already the case earlier).

I think this might be related to the fact that the settings currently displayed in the Preferences window do not change when importing from a file, so that afterwards clicking "Save" overrides the imported settings with these currently displayed old settings... ;)
