Wrong menu entries/inconsistent copy behavior

Open pcdi opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

JabRef version

Latest development branch build (please note build date below)

Operating system

macOS

Details on version and operating system

macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71) / JabRef 5.13--2024-01-11--5dbc76e

Checked with the latest development build (copy version output from About dialog)

  • [X] I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • [X] I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

JabRef 5.13--2024-01-11--5dbc76e
Mac OS X 14.2.1 x86_64
Java 21.0.1
JavaFX 20+19

Edit > Copy… > Copy cite key and title shows twice in the menu and both entries are mapped to the same keyboard shortcut (CMD-Alt-K).

However, these two entries copy two different things: The first menu entry copies <Cite key> - <Title>, the second menu entry copies only <Cite key>. The keyboard shortcut copies <Cite key> - <Title>, so this is correct.

Solution: The second entry in the menu should be removed.

@Siedlerchr In your screenshot, I see different hotkeys only. Can you highlight the problematic ones?

@pcdi Could you add a screenshot? In the one by @Siedlerchr I do not see "Copy cite key and title" twice in the menu.

  1. option + cmd + shift + t : Title -> ok
  2. cmd + shift + k : Citation key -> ok
  3. cmd + k : Custom cite comamnd -> ok
  4. cmd + shift + k -> copies cite key + url -> ok

all work fine now for me. Can no longer reproduce JabRef 5.13--2024-03-19--5a7b790
