Jabref firefox extension cannot connect to Jabref 5.6 in Ubuntu 22.04. The error: ExtensionError: No such native application org.jabref.jabref ExtensionUtils.jsm:58:5 ExtensionError resource://gre/modules/ExtensionUtils.jsm:58 startupPromise resource://gre/modules/NativeMessaging.jsm:85

I have followed the manual installation suggested for Ubuntu Snap here: https://docs.jabref.org/collect/jabref-browser-extension#installation-and-configuration

but I still get the error.

Jabref version: JabRef 5.6--2022-04-25--5c9d898 Linux 5.15.0-41-generic amd64 Java 17.0.2 JavaFX 18+12

Firefox Version 103.0.1 (64-bit)

Are you running the default firefox package from ubuntu? In that case it won't work (not easily at least), since snaps are supposed to be confined (i.e., with no access to the host). The firefox version in beta on the snap store should work, but it hasn't been tested yet.
