A "restart" would randomly turn off the TV

I am currently using the latest version 1.6.1 on Windows 11 and even though I tried multiple "restart words" in the additional options page, the TV would intermittently turn off when a reboot is initiated. This used to happen also in earlier versions.

Hi, thanks for the report,

for reasons unbeknownst to people outside Microsoft the functionality (reading the event log) used by LGTV companion to detect a restart does not always work because sometime the event is not written before windows has shut down. I guess it has to do with timing reasons. I've noticed it too occasionally, albeit very rarely.

I can think of some things to try, especially in terms of user mode, which should help with most situations (except pre-login etc) but it's difficult to troubleshoot this since I don't have the issue myself so I'll whip up a test version when I have some free time if you want to help out test it?

PS is your OS localised in a non-english language?

Hi again, can you check the log if one of the following entries exist:

"WARNING! The application did not receive an Event Subscription Callback prior to system shutting down. Unable to determine if system is shutting down or restarting.""

"WARNING! Unable to determine if system is shutting down or restarting. Please check 'additional settings in the UI."

Hello, yes I have received this entry today when restarting

Tue 09:48:57 > WARNING! The application did not receive an Event Subscription Callback prior to system shutting down. Unable to determine if system is shutting down or restarting.

unfortunately I have been unable to find an improvement to this. Next time it happens can you please check your event log to see if an event 1074 was written during shutdown?
