Do you want us to send somebody a testing sample of the throttle? Who would be the best to send it to?

At a quick glance the core of it looks about right, but I can see that it is incomplete. There is a depricated function used in intro_activity that will not work correctly without further changes. Not a big issue.

I'll look properly later today.

Jürgen, Hi, Can you explain how you got around the AndroidX requirement for: minSdkVersion 21 ?

I have found one possible (not recommended) solution for it, but I see that you didn't use that particular approach. What Approach have you used?

Other than that... there are a few small things to be fixed in intro_activity.java, but otherwise the changes were identical to my experimental branch.

I have the old version that runs Android 4.1.1. The internal battery no longer holds charge, but it works if I keep it plugged in.
