Model Interface Java Error

Open CandeBergero opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Hello! I am trying to run GCAM on a MAC OS with M1 chip. I managed to get the xmls through the data system in R and run the model, but I cannot open the Model Interface from release package v6.0 (older MI versions work but do not open the database output). I get the following error:

ERROR launching 'ModelInterface'.

No suitable Java version found on your system! This program requires Java11 or later. Make sure you install the required Java version.

However, when I check the Java version on the Terminal it shows that I have a version older than 11: openjdk version "18.0.2" 2022-07-19 OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 18.0.2+9-61) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 18.0.2+9-61, mixed mode, sharing)

I am not sure what could be happening and would appreciate any leads!

Thank you!!! Cande

I ended up downloading the release version of v5.4, and am using Model Interface from there to open the results from the run of v6.0, and that worked for me!

I am temporarily using the same method, but it seems that v5.4 Model Interface does not work on GCAM-USA emissions.

I am getting the same error on an x64 machine (Intel) older macbook.

ERROR launching 'ModelInterface'.

However, I am able to run GCAM. So JAVA is installed properly. Please help.
