Exception message in GCAM v.5.3

i am getting the following exception message after trying to run the GCAM version 5.3

Right after XML parsing complete Starting new reference scenario ... Exception msg: Could not parse var: N20_natural_emissions - Uknown variable names func: Hector:: N20Component::setData..

Hi @almareyna1! Could you give me a bit of information about the version of Hector you are using?

from your gcam workspace navigate to cvs/objects/climate/source/hector

from the terminal run git log then copy and paste the first couple chunks of output, this will help me narrow down what is going on.

But i have a follow up question, to be able to use version 5.3, I am using the gcam-v5.2-Windows-Release-Package.zip and the code from 5.2. Is that sufficient, or is there an additional step that needs to be used to run 5.3. The model seems to be running well the way tht i have done, but i dont know if i might have skipped something

No, the executable for 5.2 will not be compatible with 5.3
