Toxic "eats" the focus in konsole

Open thierry-FreeBSD opened this issue 9 years ago • 10 comments

Hello,

Before more investigation, I'd like to know if this problem is specific to my installation, of if other users remark that too: when I launch toxic 0.5.2 (revision e22b7a336c) in Konsole (the KDE Terminal), the mouse cursor cannot click in another tab (but it's OK by the keyboard with Shift-Arrows).

No problem with the other Terminal applications (e.g. urxvt).

Regards,

Known bug, you'll have to hang in there until the fix is ready. Temorary solution: compile toxic without X11 support. Refer to manpage for details.

There's workaround for it, works for Toxic compiled with X support.

  1. After launching Toxic press on your keyboard key that shows menu (not sure what's the name of key, it's located on left to right ctrl).
  2. When menu show, click on option that will spawn new window, like Edit Current Profile…
  3. Close new window, now konsole should behave properly.

Might be related to an issue I have where if I run toxic, even in a different tmux window, I cannot select any text in toxic or any other tmux window. Separate terminals are not affected.

Have the same issue with several terminal-emulators. Only xterm let me select the text.

This is issue with X11 support in toxic. There are 2 temporary solutions:

  • stop using bloated terminal emulators
  • compile toxic without X11 support (no smart notifications etc).

Sorry for the inconvenience.
