Sorry it's taken so long to get back to this. Are you still having this problem? I can't reproduce it.
>The issue stems from the assumption that if video is enabled audio is enabled, but that is not necessarily the case. That makes sense. I never considered someone might try...
This is an issue with ncurses unicode support. It uses an old standard which doesn't support certain characters such as the new emojis.
Toxic doesn't support non-English translations at the time being.
What happens when the clients that don't work try to initiate the call?
Pretty mysterious. Maybe @mannol can help since he's the A/V guy?
>it's odd that the issue is a input device issue... Exactly. Why would your own input device fail because of the other person's client. I'll have to look a bit...
> Looks like this is handled in x11focus.c now? Correct. The purpose of this file is so that Toxic doesn't spam you with sound/desktop notifications when you have the window...
> Is toxic intended to be runnable within screen, tmux and/or a ssh session? Yes, though certain features revolving around notifications might be a bit buggy.
Fixing this isn't really feasible because of how hacky the ncurses interface is. You can hit ctrl+h to jump to the bottom instead of scrolling though.
