Documentation improvement: Samples for event handlers

It would be nice to have a simple example showcasing how to use events, as it's not entirely clear how to do this now

Yes - please! Documentation is pretty poor at the moment.

I just added a (small) sample on event handling, I'll add some more as soon as I have more time (quite busy period )
