Stopped working partway through song - acted like I was holding a colored button

I just got my old Wii Rock Band setup out of a drawer, so I can't promise everything is in good working order. I couldn't find an easy way to decipher my Wiimote PIN, so I tried using the Wii Rock Band guitar.

I couldn't figure out how to pick a song. This is my first time playing Fortnite. Touching the screen just seemed to move the camera, and none of the guitar buttons got me to the song selector. My regular gamepad wasn't working at all.

Whoever the game assigned me picked a song and it was working okay until it stopped responding to my presses. It acted like I was holding down a colored button and not strumming, no matter what I did. At some point, it stopped highlighting that button, but immediately got back into the same stuck state on a different color as soon as I tried playing again.

I noticed the USB adaptor was blinking, so I pressed the button. Not sure if that's why I got this error, or if it's from when the controller originally stopped responding. Either way, it asked me to file, so here we are:

I was able to use this controller to successfully play Rock Band 2 on Wii last night, so the controller works.

I used the main buttons at the top of the neck to play on Wii. When I attempted to play Festival, the game wasn't showing the blue button on the neck being depressed; it only worked if I used the inside colored buttons near the strum bar.

I'm going to attempt to install Clone Hero and see how my instruments perform there.
