exif will disappear after editing

Open yoyomule opened this issue 6 years ago • 1 comments

Hello, I used the intervention to edit the image, such as clipping, adding watermark, etc., but after doing these operations, I found that the gps information in the exif will disappear. Is there any way to support the retention of gps information after editing? In addition, currently only the function of reading exif is provided, is it considered to support writing exif? Thanks.

I am also interesting in this issue. After picture resize exif data disappears. I need to keep at least exif('ImageDescription')

I think this is a problem with the GD library. Unfortunately, functions like imagejpeg() do not write EXIF data, so the data is lost during the write process.

I would like to fix this problem. My goal has always been to make Intervention Image behave the same with GD or Imagick. Unfortunately, I currently do not have a solution that provides a good solution without adding more complex dependencies to Intervention Image.

I would use the Imagick driver with Intervention Image as it preserves the EXIF data.
