`plutus-benchmark` is slower than `uplc` despite doing the same?

@kwxm claims (make sure to read the whole thread) that running benchmarks manually via the executable gives shorter evaluation times compared to plutus-benchmark, which is the opposite of how things should be. This needs to be investigated.
