Sending accept emails to external appointment starter fails

When opening an appointment invitation, accepting it and tick the box: "send an email to the appointment creator"

it fails with: Expected response code 354 but got code "554", with message "554 5.5.1 Error: no valid recipients

GO has a valid email server, smtp sending in general works very well.
