Follow-on activities around IEEE paper
- [ ] make preprint available on the web with a stable URL. I don't know for sure where the paper should go. In our bibliography ? on the web site? The URL should be "permanent" (a fuzzy term).
- [ ] make auxiliary information available. Probably in the same place the paper is available, publish the talk slides and any transcripts or recordings available.
- [ ] give notice on Medley web site and social media accounts (Fosstodon, Twitter, LinkedIn Interlisp group.
- [ ] make sure questions will be managed and responded to.
- [ ] consider writing additional 'fuller' version as suggested by IEEE reviewers.
In addition to a bibliography entry, as for Andrew's ELS 2024 paper we may add an entry to the News and Status Reports page of the project site.
The entry would link to the preprint and provide auxiliary information whereas the PDF would go on the Interlisp.github.io repo under /static/documentation. The PDF could technically be hosted at another stable URL elsewhere such as the Internet Archive, Zenodo, or arXiv. But this may not comply with IEEE's license that requires the preprint to be available at the author institution's site.
As for where to direct readers to send questions and inquiries, here are some possibilities:
- the authors' email addresses listed on the paper
- section 3. Join in the discussions of the project site's Get Involved page (replies would go on the same channels the readers posted on)
- a designated social account or communication channel like the LinkedIn group or [email protected]
Ellie sent me the PDF of the preprint and I'll submit a PR for the project site.
The PDF should go under /static/documentation, right? Based on the file names in that directory I'd call the preprint young-ccece2025.pdf: is it okay?
I submitted PR 283 to make the preprint available on the project site.
I submitted PR #284 to link to the slides of the talk too.
Closing as complete as per the July 30, 2025 external meeting. A new issue may be opened if necessary for an extended paper.
