Errors on FILEMAP changes
The Interlisp file package had some assumptions about files and directories. For example, the "filemap" of a file is cached in a hash table keyed to the LITATOM (symbol) for the full file name.
LOADFNS works fine without a filemap. Scanning files for definitions is suppored. the filemap should just be a hint and either rebuilt or just set to NIL if it's wrong.
How do FINDCALLERS/EDITCALLERS behave without a filemap? Presumably they would have to build the map on the first hit, so they know what function they are in.
