Question - GMSL de-serializer chip for D457

Open r91andersson opened this issue 7 months ago • 2 comments

Hi,

We found a carrier board for the AGX Orin which has the FAKRA connectors: https://www.lannerinc.com/products/edge-ai-appliance/deep-learning-inference-appliances/eai-i251

I wounder if I could plug a realsense D457 camera into this?

According to the manufacturer, they're using the GMSL deserializer "Analog Device MAX96724/F/R" chip. Is this chip compatible with the Realsense D457 serializer? https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/max96724.pdf

Hi @r91andersson The official RealSense Store's product listing for D457 only specify the need for a "Maxim deserializer" without recommending a specific Maxim deserializer chip component. Intel do not test deserializer products for compatibility.

The only carrier board product that has been confirmed by my Intel RealSense colleagues to be compatible with D457 is Leopard Imaging's product at the link below which incorporates the Maxim MAX9296A.
