** Description
99% of the usefulness of PipePipe to me is to listen to "talk show" or instructive podcast-like content that gets posted to YouTube exclusively. An almost 7" tall-but-narrow screen is just too small most times for things that deserve actually looking at them IMO.
NewPipe's background queue has, as far as I can tell, imagined as a music player only, much to my chagrin, with the queue vanishing in thin air whenever:
- An overriding "Start playing in background" is issued
- The app is hard-restarted
This forces queue micromanagement on a multiple-times-a-day, day-to-day basis, by saving/restoring videos to/from a playlist, which comes with a number of problems since playlists were not meant to be used this way, making the task exceedingly clunky and time-intensive.
I would absolutely love to bits if there was an option to preserve the queue, much in the same way as it happens inside a podcatcher like AntennaPod, for an instance.
Since I imagine PipePipe might still get used as a music player by some, perhaps this could be exposed as a quick-to-flip "Music/Podcast Mode" switch housed within the queue view.
I use it almost exclusively as a music and I second the sentiment towards a (semi)persistent queue.
