A safe binding

This is not possible right now. However, I am curious what would be needed to make it fully safe. I think if this could be done it could improve Rust adoption a lot. Also I think it is something that people might be willing to fund 🤷‍♂️.

PR #243 increased safety already by a lot. #239 should be followed up.
